In 2013 Amazon expanded to Dresden with it being the home-base of the Amazon Development Center team. The Kernel and Operating System team creates the heart of EC2, the actual virtual compute instance definitions and Amazon Linux, the operating system for our cloud. Amazon is looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer for the Test Automation Team. As part of the team, you will be given the chance to have a significant impact to improve our systems, our business and most importantly the services for our customers.

We are in need of an experienced Test Automation Engineer that can contribute to our test automation systems, someone who can help us make our system even more user friendly and robust. We are looking for someone that is able to write code in Python/Perl and thrives looking for elegant solutions to the challenging problem of testing EC2 platforms and automatic qualification approval.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industry experience as a QA Engineer, SDET, or Software Developer.
  • Strong Linux background.
  • Ability to programmatically test the product, measure test coverage, drive testability and diagnostic ability into the product, while promoting best practices in quality areas.
  • Ability to program to solve problems and automate repetitive tasks in a common scripting or programming language such as Python, Perl, Bash.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and as part of a cross-functional team with the ability to influence others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of network protocols and connectivity.
• Experience working in a Linux environment.
• Knowledge of typical Linux toolbox of Open Source development software.
• Demonstrated skill and passion for operational excellence.
