  • Job Description

    Amazon.com is seeking an experienced Sr. Manager of Employee Benefits for our EMEA region. This hands-on managerial role will partner extensively with internal stakeholders and external partners across the region as well as the globe on strategy, design and delivery of employee benefits. In addition to ensuring a positive employee experience with our programs, this role will also be responsible for all regulatory requirements for Amazon’s EMEA based programs. Qualified candidates need to have industry experience in managing multi-country benefit programs, regionally based teams, program compliance, and experience with integrating programs through acquisition activity. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, works effectively with internal and external contacts, has proven abilities to manage critical projects to successful completion, and enjoys the challenges of developing and improving programs and service delivery in a highly dynamic environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate critical thinking skills, a strong focus on attention to detail with sound judgement, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a passion for customer service.

    Periodic global travel is required.

    Core Responsibilities
    Program Development – Set and deliver on plan strategy that aligns to Amazon’s total rewards philosophy, delivers a great employee experience, and enables continued scalability. Continuously monitor for cost savings, operational efficiencies and improved employee experience. Manage and oversee multiple vendor engagements as well as develop and deliver on complex and broad-based projects including team training and change management to impacted individuals and stakeholders.
    Research and Reporting - Provide reports on a regular basis and keep senior leadership informed of operational metrics, financial dashboards, and employee satisfaction measures. Participate in quarterly business reviews of benefits spend and trends for the EMEA region
    Plan Governance - Manage all financial and regulatory compliance requirements and metrics. Identify potential areas of enhancements, financial opportunities and risk mitigation, develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
    People Management – As a people manager, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities to attract senior-level talent in multiple functions from inside and outside the company. Set high performance standards for team and ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget. Recognize trends for larger-scale development needs within and across teams; and build plans to develop skills across the team.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 10+ years of EMEA benefits or program management work experience
    • Experience with international benefits including design and delivery
    • Demonstrated bias for action with strengths in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in an ambiguous and deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the proven ability to effectively manage, influence, negotiate and communicate with business partners and teams to meet operational goals
    • Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to design workable solutions, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and successfully implement projects
    • Strong business judgment and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done
    • Flexibility, sharp organizational and process-oriented skills, and a self-starting work ethic
    • Demonstrated strengths in talent development
    • Strong analytical and data gathering skills (including Excel)
    • Demonstrated passion for delivering a great customer experience
    • Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 10+ years of relevant global benefits experience
    • Experience influencing executives, in partnership with cross functional business leaders, to gain approvals on proposals and recommendations
    • Proven track record of working effectively with people across a large, complex organization to create and launch innovative, successful solutions
    • Experience with acquisition integration and new country expansions
    • French and Spanish language skills a plus
